Counselling and Psychotherapy in Peckham/East Dulwich, London SE15, and Chelsea, London SW3 !

I am a professionally trained, experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working with a wide variety of issues, and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I draw from and integrate a range of theoretical perspectives in my counselling practice as this enables me to adapt my approach according to the needs and personality of each client. I offer both short and longer-term therapy to young people, adults and couples. What Are Counselling and Psychotherapy? At times we all feel stressed and overwhelmed, possibly as a direct result of a traumatic event or simply due to the difficulties we encounter on a daily basis while struggling to juggle the many aspects of our lives. It’s at these times that we can most benefit from taking space to reflect on things. Counselling and psychotherapy are recognised as effective ways of helping you to explore your issues in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment. By focusing on significant life events, both past and present, along with feelings, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour, I can help you to gain a deeper understanding of your problems, highlight any internal conflicts, clarify what you want and help you focus on the changes you need to make in order to achieve your goals. Training, Qualifications & Experience I am 42 years old and worked as a journalist for 13 years before deciding to pursue a career as a counsellor and psychotherapist. I began my training at Thames Valley University, where I successfully completed the Certificate in Person-Centred Counselling. I then went on to do the Post Graduate Diploma and MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at Roehampton University. During my training I worked in the voluntary sector for Faces in Focus, counselling young people up to the age of 25, and for the Creative Therapies Project, counselling Southwark residents suffering from a variety of mental health concerns. In addition, I worked for Tower Hamlets Community Alcohol Team (THCAT) for 18 months, counselling Tower Hamlets residents over the age of 18 affected by alcohol misuse. I am currently working as a sessional counsellor for Turning Point - South Westminster Drug and Alcohol Service, counselling residents in South Westminster affected by drug and alcohol misuse. I also have my own private practice based in Peckham/East Dulwich, London SE15, and Chelsea, London SW3.
